A gang of as many as 25 Bangladeshi miscreants attacked BSF troopers along the India-Bangladesh border in Meghalaya’s West Jaintia Hills.

According to reports, the miscreants intruded into the Indian territory at Rongkhum and attacked the security personnel.

One BSF trooper suffered severe injuries after he was attacked with sharp weapons. A civilian was also injured after being attacked by the miscreants who barged into the victim’s house to take refuge.

However, sensing trouble the miscreants crossed over to the Bangladesh side before additional BSF troopers rushed to the spot.

Meanwhile, the Border Security Force also conducted a flag meeting with Border Guard of Bangladesh and lodged a strong protest.

The Border guard of Bangladesh officers visited the place of occurrence and later confirmed that they had identified the culprits and appropriate actions as per law of the land will be taken against them.

It may be mentioned that this is not the first case of Bangladeshi miscreants unleashing terror in Indian territory by infiltrating through porous international border.

Earlier, late Tuesday night, a gang of Bangladeshi robbers operating had attacked two civilians at Dawki in Meghalaya. The incident occurred at Sawkha near Lamin village close to the Dawki border with Bangladesh.
