Meghalaya: 2 minors who had gone to a fair, gang-raped in South West Garo Hills

The men gang-raped the 2 minors in two separate incidents at the fair. Three FIRs have been registered at the Ampati Police Station.

In a shocking incident, two minor girls were gang-raped in two separate locations South West Garo Hills in Meghalaya. The two minors were gang-raped by a group of men on April 17.

As per police inputs, the two minors had gone to the annual fair at Chenga Benga which is close to the Assam border, along with two friends.

Both the minors were allegedly assaulted by the same group of men.

Three separate FIRs have been registered at the Ampati Police Station.

According to SP South West Garo Hills, Vikas Yadav, the miscreants were waiting for the victims. In one incident, the men knocked the boy accompanying the minor girl unconscious, and raped the girl.

As per police, the minor boy was tied up and beaten up mercilessly knocking him unconscious. But the minor girl did not lose consciousness and recollected the horror she had gone through.

Later, the other minor girl with her friend also went to the same place where the same gang caught hold of the victims and gang-raped the girl.

Currently, an investigation into the matter is underway and police are hopeful of a breakthrough.
