Manipur: Six Arambai Tengol Members Arrested for Assaulting Police During Bishnupur Bandh

Manipur Police have arrested six members of the Arambai Tengol for assaulting police personnel, including a senior officer, during a bandh in Bishnupur district on 9 June.
The arrested individuals have been identified as Laishram Sanahal Singh, Laishram Rishikanta Singh, Laishram Premchand, and Sarangthem Rabichandra from Imphal West, along with Kangabam Nongdamba Singh and Yumnam Jaswant Singh from Bishnupur. All six are aged between 18 and 28.
According to police, the group was directly involved in a physical attack on law enforcement personnel during the bandh. The incident raised serious concerns about public safety and the growing boldness of fringe elements amid ongoing unrest in the state.
Authorities have promised strict legal action, and investigations are underway to determine if more individuals were involved. The arrests mark a significant step in restoring order and upholding the rule of law.
