Manipur CM N Biren Singh’s massive peace outreach initiative

The CM is meeting academicians, intellectuals, doctors and entrepreneurs as part of his fresh initiative to restore peace in the state. He would be religious leaders too
Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh is on a massive peace outreach engaging with different sections of people to act as emissaries to restore normalcy in the state which has been witnessing unrest since May 3rd.
In what can be termed as a bottom-up approach, Chief Minister N Biren Singh is meeting everyone from intellectuals to doctors and entrepreneurs seeking their assistance in restoring normalcy.
Earlier today Chief Minister N Biren Singh held a meet with leading entrepreneurs and doctors and others in the medical profession in Imphal.
The CM had held a similar meet with academicians and intellectuals including professors of Manipur University and DM University among others in Imphal yesterday.
As per well-informed sources, the CM is seeking assistance from all sections to mediate between parties and communities and bring peace. Academicians, doctors and entrepreneurs are among those who can enhance people to people contact and work at multiple levels to reduce the trust deficit between communities, sources said, talking about CM N Biren Singh’s initiative.
Chief Minister N Biren Singh will also convene an inter-faith or all-religion meet in the next few days as a part of his massive peace outreach.
Meanwhile, as per sources, Chief Minister N Biren Singh is also in touch with Kuki leaders at multiple levels.
Sources also said that the Manipur CM, who is in constant touch with Union Home Minister Amit Shah, has sought additional funds from the MHA for providing relief and building of houses for the internally displaced people.
