Manipur CM N Biren Singh Emphasizes Growing Public Support for Peace Amid Crisis

Speaking at Khangabok, the Chief Minister reaffirmed the government's commitment to safeguarding the unity and integrity of the state.
Even as the trust deficit between two main communities of Manipur persists and sporadic incidents of firing and violence continue to be reported from some parts of the state, Chief Minister N Biren Singh has stated that people are beginning to understand the core issues behind the unprecedented situation in the state since May 2023. As a result, they are extending support to the government in its efforts to restore peace and normalcy.
Speaking at Khangabok in Thoubal district, the Chief Minister reaffirmed the government’s commitment to safeguarding the unity and integrity of the state.
He emphasised that the administration had never acted against any community that has coexisted for centuries but would stand firmly against vested interest groups attempting to divide the state.
Singh’s remarks come at a crucial time, highlighting the need for collective efforts to bring stability.
The government’s approach focuses on cooperation and strengthening social harmony, reinforcing its stance against forces trying to disrupt peace.
