S Sarjubala Devi, an amateur boxer from Manipur who represented India at the 2016 Rio Olympics is now all set to make her foray into professional boxing.
She has signed a contract with Mujtaba Kamal, a well-known Indian boxing promoter, and Grassroot Boxing Promotions and Management in Imphal.
The 28-year-old pugilist will make her professional boxing debut on February 26 in Dubai, she informed at the formal announcement program held in Imphal today.
Manipur DGP P Doungel and former boxer and international medal winner Mujtaba Kamal were also present at the program.

It may be mentioned here that Sarjubala Devi was adjudged Best Boxer at the Youth World Women Boxing Championship organised in Turkey.
She used to compete in the 48 kg category but recently changed division to the 51 kg category.
Post the change, she claimed a Gold Medal at the National Women’s Boxing Championship 2018 in the Flyweight category.
She also won the Best Boxer award at the 7th Youth Women National Championship held in Patiala and the 14th Senior Women Boxing Competition.
Sarjubala is also a four-time national champion who has represented India in many international tournaments and has won medals in nearly all of the competitions in which she has competed.
