Manipur Assembly’s show cause notice to 10 Kuki-Chin MLAs

CSO leaders including Kuki Inpi, KSO, ITLF and 10 Naga MLAs from Manipur are in Delhi to meet Union Home Minister Amit Shah

The ethics and privileges committee of Manipur Assembly has issued a show cause notice to the 10 Kuki-Chin MLAs who had demanded a separate administration. They have to submit their response by June 16.

The committee has charged the MLAs of violating the ethics and privileges of the Manipur Assembly by demanding a separate administration meaning they are demanding fragmentation or dismemberment of the state of Manipur. Pressure is mounting on the Kuki-Chin MLAs who has been asked to respond why action should not be taken against them.

Sources in New Delhi have told Northeast Live that a group of CSO leaders including Kuki Inpi, the apex body of the Kukis, Kuki Students Organisation, representatives of ITLF and some other Kuki CSO leaders are in New Delhi since yesterday. They are waiting to meet Union Home Minister Amit Shah. They would discuss means to address apprehensions and restore normalcy in the trouble-torn state of Manipur, sources said.

Also, 10 Naga from Manipur are also camping in New Delhi and are slated to meet the Union Home Minister Amit Shah today evening. As per inputs, the MLA contingent includes six from NPF, 2 from NPP and 2 from the ruling BJP.
