Major Bureaucratic Reshuffle in Assam, Key IAS and ACS Officers Transferred

The Assam government on Tuesday has issued transfer and posting orders for several senior IAS and ACS officers to key positions across the state.

As per the official notification, Varnali Deka, IAS, who was serving as the District Commissioner of Nalbari, has been transferred and posted as Commissioner & Secretary to the Government of Assam in the General Administration Department. Devassih Sharma, IAS, who held the dual charge of District Commissioner, Morigaon and Joint Resident Commissioner, Assam Bhawan, Mumbai, has now been transferred and posted as District Commissioner of Nagaon. He will continue to hold the additional responsibility as Joint Resident Commissioner, Assam Bhawan, Mumbai.

Khanindra Choudhury, IAS, who was serving as the District Commissioner of Goalpara, has been transferred and appointed as Secretary to the Chief Minister of Assam. Meanwhile, Narendra Shah, IAS, who served as the District Commissioner of Nagaon, has been appointed as Director of Employment & Craftsmen Training, Assam and also as Managing Director of AIIDC with additional charge.

Nivedan Das Patowary, ACS, Joint Secretary to the Government of Assam, P&RD and MD, ASRLM (addl.), has been posted as the new District Commissioner of Nalbari. Pradip Timung, ACS, who was serving as Director of Sports & Youth Welfare and MD, Assam State Warehousing Corporation, has been transferred and posted as District Commissioner of Goalpara.

Anamika Tewari, ACS, Joint Secretary to the Government of Assam, Labour Welfare Department and Commissioner of Labour (addl.), has been appointed as the new District Commissioner of Morigaon.

\In another key appointment, Kumud Moni Sarmah Bordoloi, IAS, Joint Secretary to the Government of Assam, Industries, Commerce & Public Enterprises Department and OSD to the Chief Minister (addl.), has been transferred and posted as Joint Secretary to the Government of Assam, P&RD and MD, ASRLM, in addition to serving as OSD to the Chief Minister.

Further, Virendra Mittal, IAS, Commissioner & Secretary to the Government of Assam, Finance Department and General Administration Department (addl.), and PD, ARIAS (addl.), has been relieved from the additional charge of Commissioner & Secretary to the Government of Assam, General Administration Department.

Finally, Anant Lal Gyani, IAS, Secretary, Revenue & DM Department and Additional Chief Executive Officer, ASDMA and Director, Employment & Craftsmen Training, Assam (addl.) and Project Director, Assam Integrated River Basin Management Project under PIU, ASDMA Kamrup (M), has been relieved from the additional charge of Director, Employment & Craftsmen Training, Assam.
