Locals foil abduction attempt of minor in Assam

Alert locals of Karimganj in Assam foiled an attempt by a man to abduct a minor girl and rescued the girl from the clutches of the abductor.
The incident unfolded on Silchar Road when the accused, identified as Monjurul Haq, allegedly attempted to abduct the young girl while she was returning from her tuition classes.
The accused reportedly tried to abduct her by dragging her onto his two-wheeler at the Silchar Road. It was after the minor screamed that the locals were alerted and rushed to rescue her.
Locals reportedly thrashed the accused before the police team stepped in to control the situation.
The matter was informed to the Karimganj police. They rushed to the spot and brought the situation under control.
The accused is currently in police custody.
