He will now work from the State Secretariat three days a week, a departure from the practice of a governor working only from the Raj Bhawan.

Manipur Governor Ajay Kumar Bhalla appears set to administer the violence-wracked state right from the front.

He will now work from the State Secretariat three days a week, a departure from the practice of a governor working only from the Raj Bhawan.

Following the imposition of President’s Rule in the state on February 13, the offices of ministers at both the old and new secretariat have been shut by the General Administrative Department.

Governor Ajay Kumar Bhalla will now operate from the old secretariat thrice a week.

The decision comes following a meeting with top-ranking officials, including Chief Secretary PK Singh, Security Advisor Kuldiep Singh, DGP Rajiv Singh, and other senior officials, including all the District Commissioners earlier this week.

The office of former Minister Letpao Haokip will now be used by Advisors to the Governor, while the office of former Minister Thounaojam Basanta Kumar has been converted into an office for the Governor.
