Mizoram Chief Minister Lalduhoma met Union Home Minister Amit Shah in New Delhi on Friday and discussed a range of key issues related to the state. During the meeting, Amit Shah praised Mizoram as one of India’s most peaceful states, acknowledging the state’s role in maintaining harmony and stability in the region.

CM Lalduhoma’s office in a tweet said, “CM Pu @Lal_Duhoma met Union HM @AmitShah
Shah in Delhi yesterday. HM lauded Mizoram as one of India’s most peaceful states. Key issues discussed: Bana Kaih Scheme, Lengpui Airport, depreciated cost of buildings & Infra in AR land, refugee portal, and Mizo Territorial Army.”

The Chief Minister brought up several important matters during the meeting, including the implementation of the Bana Kaih Scheme, the future of Lengpui Airport, the depreciated value of buildings and infrastructure on Assam Rifles (AR) land, the development of a refugee data portal, and about the Mizo Territorial Army.

It may be mentioned that on April 29, Chief Minister Lalduhoma held a meeting with senior officials of the Airports Authority of India (AAI) to discuss the possible transfer of Lengpui Airport to the national aviation body. Lalduhoma said that although the idea had been considered in the past, it could not move forward due to unfavourable conditions at the time.

In another development, on May 17, the Chief Minister inspected a potential site for the proposed Mizo Territorial Army Battalion Headquarters at Lungleng Village. Health Minister Lalrinpuii and Aizawl South-III MLA Baryl Vanneihsangi accompanied him during the site visit. They also held discussions with village leaders to understand local concerns and gather feedback.
