Holiday Turns Tragic: 4 Dead, 2 Including 9-Year-Old, Injured As Car Falls Into Deep Gorge In Arunachal Pradesh

The deceased have been identified as Ranjit Chetry, Meena Chetry, Suraj Chetry and Manoj Chetry, the driver of the car whose body was recovered from the mangled car.

In a tragic incident, four people were killed and two others, including a 9-year-old, sustained critical injuries on Sunday evening when their car skidded off the road and plunged into a deep gorge in Arunachal Pradesh’s Lower Dibang district.

The accident took place around 5 PM at 23 Mile near Roing.

The group, consisting of two families from Golaghat’s Numaligarh, was travelling to Mayodia when the mishap occurred.

According to police, the car, which was being driven by one Manoj Chetry, skidded off the road and fell into the deep gorge due to inclement weather and poor visibility.

The deceased have been identified as Ranjit Chetry, Meena Chetry, Suraj Chetry and Manoj Chetry, the driver of the car whose body was recovered from the mangled car.

The bodies of the other three is yet to be retrieved from car that has been damaged beyond recognition.

Meanwhile, the two injured, identified as Harimaya Chetry and the young child, Rasni Chetry, had been rescued by the police and sent to Dibrugarh for further treatment.

Both the families hailed from Numaligarh in Assam’s Golaghat district and had gone to Arunachal Pradesh for holidays.
