Heroin Worth Rs 4 Crore Seized in Joint Operation by Assam Police, 1 Arrested

Assam Police: Golaghat Police and Karbi Anglong Police, who intercepted a vehicle at No.1 Chungajan and seized 671.92 grams of heroin.
In a major crackdown on drug trafficking, Assam Police arrested a drug peddler with heroin worth Rs 4 crore during a joint operation in Chungajan.
The operation was carried out by Golaghat Police and Karbi Anglong Police, who intercepted a vehicle at No.1 Chungajan and seized 671.92 grams of heroin.
Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma praised the effort on social media platform X, stating, “In a joint anti-narcotics operation… 671.92g of heroin worth ₹4 crore. One peddler has been arrested.”
Earlier, the Cachar Police seized drugs worth Rs 2 crore and arrested 10 drug peddlers during 4 coordinated operations conducted within 24 hours across the district today.
The swift and strategic crackdown was carried out based on intelligence inputs and targeted key transit and storage points suspected to be part of a larger drug distribution network.
