Guwahati double murder case: Main accused Bandana had paid Rs 2 lakh to co-accused Arup for his wedding

Days after the spine chilling Guwahati double murder case that shocked everyone, new and interesting information are coming to the fore.
It has been revealed that Bandana Kalita, the prime accused in the murder case allegedly paid Rs 2 lakhs to one of the co-accused Arup Deka to help her commit the gruesome crime. Arup took the money to get married. Arup has confessed to the police.
Bandana, with the help of Dhanti and Arup had killed and chopped her husband and mother-in-law, stored the body parts in the fridge for three days before dumping the body parts in Dawki in the neighbouring state of Meghalaya.
The double murder was committed seven months ago in Noonmati area of Guwahati.
It came to light on February 17, 2023, seven months after the crime was committed on August 22, 2022.
On February 22, Bandana Kalita was sent to a six-day police custody after the Guwahati police sought seven days’ custody of Bandana Kalita for further interrogations and investigations into the case.
On Tuesday (February 21), the police recovered parts of Amarjyoti De at Dawki road in Meghalaya wrapped in a plastic bag.
The murder case came to light when Bandana filed a missing person’s report and Amarjyoti and his mother’s relatives and neighbours also got suspicious about the whereabouts of the mother and son.
A few months after the missing person’s report, police were unable to find out any information about Amarjyoti and his mother, Bandana Kalita filed another complaint accusing Amarjyoti’s uncle of collecting all the money they received from their tenants from the 5 buildings located across the city.
Following the complaint, the police started an investigation. During the inquiry, they found a clue regarding the missing Amarjyoti and his mother. Based on this finding, the police detained Bandana on February 17 and during questioning, Bandana admitted to the crime. Police later arrested Bandana.
During the interrogation, Bandana revealed that the motive behind the murders was her extramarital affair and acquisition of property.
