With the launch of News Live Bangla, the Pride East Group is now bringing its legacy of credible journalism to Bengali audiences.

Bengali viewers now have a brand-new destination for trusted news and updates.

After Assamese, Hindi and English news channels, Pride East Entertainments, a media conglomerate based in Guwahati, Assam, founded by Riniki Bhuyan Sharma in 2008, today launched 24×7 News Live Bangla, expanding its reach to Bengali-speaking audiences.

The brand new channel was launched by global icon and spiritual leader Sadhguru and Assam Governor Lakshman Prasad Acharya at the first-ever Pride East Conclave 2025, held in Guwahati, marking a significant milestone-17 years of News Live, 7 years of Northeast Live, and 7 years of lifestyle magazine Aaina Jibonor.

Speaking at the launch event, Pride East CMD Riniki Bhuyan Sarma reflected on the organisation’s journey, recalling how it started before the advent of satellite channels. She emphasised the mission of informing, engaging, and empowering audiences despite numerous challenges.

“As a woman leader, I have faced many obstacles, but our belief in the power of information has never wavered. Our goal has always been to reach every household,” said CMD Riniki Bhuyan Sarma.

She also highlighted the contribution of Pride East’s sister channel, Ramdhenu, which focuses on youth engagement and cultural promotion.

Chief Managing Editor of News Live, Syed Zarir Hussain shared insights on News Live’s journey since its launch in 2008.

“With a young team, we have covered significant events over 17 years, shaping narratives and contributing to our state’s growth,” he said. He credited the channel’s success to the CMD’s openness to innovation, which has enabled expansion and progress.

With News Live Bangla, Pride East strengthens its commitment to regional news, promising accurate, timely, and impactful journalism for the Bengali-speaking audience.

The Pride East Group has been a powerhouse in the media industry, operating five successful television channels:

  1. News Live – A 24-hour Assamese news channel, known for its in-depth reporting on Assam.

  3. Rang – A dedicated entertainment channel offering Assamese and Bollywood content.
  4. Ramdhenu– A music channel focused on Assamese and regional music.

Beyond television, the group also publishes the Assamese daily newspaper Niyomiya Barta and the lifestyle magazine Aaina Jibonor.
