From Phulera to Assam: 2 Panchayat Actors to Be Seen Next in Assamese Film ‘Malamal Boyyyz’

Two of the most loved characters from the popular web series Panchayat are all set to make their Assamese film debut in an exciting new avatar.
Actors Durgesh Kumar, known for playing Banrakas, and Ashok Pathak, who plays Binod, will be seen portraying villainous brothers in the upcoming Assamese film ‘Malamal Boyyyz’, set for theatrical release on July 11, 2025.
Both actors, stepping into lead antagonist roles as brothers, are expected to bring an intriguing twist to the film’s storyline.
The film Malamal Boyyyz is being promoted as a vibrant Assamese production.
A social media video recently released by the makers, featuring both actors, has already stirred excitement among fans.
The film is being produced by Khalpotii Official, with the creative direction credited to Mrinlal & team.
Durgesh Kumar, who hails from Motipur village in Bihar’s Darbhanga district, rose to fame for his roles as Aadoo in the Hindi film Highway and Bhushan aka Banrakas in Panchayat.
Interestingly, his journey to acting began after an unsuccessful attempt to pursue engineering. Moving to Delhi in 2001, he joined theatre, performed in over 35 plays, and went on to earn a BA Honours from IGNOU (2004–2007), along with a certificate course in acting from Shri Ram Centre for Performing Arts.
Ashok Pathak, whose film journey began with Bittu Boss (2012), has also made his mark in international cinema with a role in the Hollywood film The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel (2011). His recent appearance in Sister Midnight (2024) further cemented his versatility as an actor.
