The residents of Dichu expressed their heartfelt gratitude to the Governor and the Indian Army for this transformative initiative.

Households of Dichu — the first border village located near the DokaLa post at the tri-junction of India, China, and Bhutan — now has electricity, thanks to the initiative taken by Governor of Sikkim, Om Prakash Mathur.

During his visit to the Dokala post on January 4, 2025, the Governor interacted with the residents of Dichu village on his return journey and discovered that the village had no access to electricity. Recognizing the urgency of the situation, he requested the General Officer Commanding (GOC) of the 17 Mountain Division, Major General M.S. Rathore, to address the issue.

The Indian Army’s Trishakti Corps responded swiftly and seriously to the Governor’s request. Their efforts led to the successful electrification of Dichu, fulfilling a fundamental need and significantly improving the quality of life for the villagers. In addition to the power supply, the Army also undertook the painting of tin roofs in the village.

The residents of Dichu expressed their heartfelt gratitude to the Governor and the Indian Army for this transformative initiative. With this development, Dichu is not only illuminated by electricity but has become a shining example of empowerment in remote and strategic regions.

The Governor commended the Trishakti Corps of the Indian Army for their dedication and swift action in making this project a reality.
