Former Arunachal MLA Kapchen Rajkumar Dies In Wild Elephant Attack in Tirap

Former Arunachal Pradesh MLA, Kapchen Rajkumar died on Wednesday after being attacked by wild elephant attack in Tirap distrcit of Arunachal Pradesh.
According to family members of Rajkumar, the attack took place in the early morning hours between Namsang and Deomali area.
Born on 15 April, 1960, in Namsang village to Late Wangmai Rajkumar who was former acting chief of Namsang, Rajkumar was elected and served as the Member of Arunachal Pradesh Legislative Assembly from the erstwhile Khonsa North Assembly Constituency during 1985–1990.
He pursued his early schooling at Ramakrishna Mission School, Narottamnagar, Deomali, and later studied at Government Higher Secondary School, Khonsa. He also completed a Commercial Pilot Training Course at Safdarjung Airport, New Delhi.
Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister,condoled the demise of Kapchen Rajkumar, “I am deeply saddened to hear about the tragic passing of Late Kapchen Rajkumar, former MLA from Tirap, who fell victim to a very unfortunate incident. His dedication to serving the community and his contributions to our society will always be remembered.
Late Kapchen Rajkumar’s commitment to the welfare of the people and his relentless pursuit of progress for Tirap will leave a lasting legacy. It is a profound loss not only for his family and friends but for all those whose lives he touched through his work.
As a mark of respect and to support the bereaved family during this difficult time, necessary instructions have been issued to process the ex-gratia grant. My thoughts and prayers are with his family and loved ones. May they find strength and comfort in the cherished memories they hold of him.”wrote Pema Khandu X
Deputy Chief Minister, Chowna Mein also condoled the death of Kapchen Rajkumar. Chowna Mein wrote on X, “Deeply saddened to learn about the tragic demise of Shri Kapchen Rajkumar ji, former MLA of the erstwhile Khonsa North Assembly Constituency.
Shri Rajkumar was the first and youngest pilot trainee from the Nocte tribe, who chose the path of public service at a very young age. His life was marked by selfless service, compassion for the underprivileged, and an unwavering commitment to the development of his people.
His untimely demise is an irreparable loss to the community. May his noble soul rest in eternal peace, and may the bereaved family find strength in this hour of grief.”
A pall of gloom decended in Tirap district following the sudden demise of Kapchen Rajkumar.
Kapchen Rajkumar’s last rites will be performed on Thursday at his native village, Namsang.
