Focus Mechuka: CM Pema Khandu’s Big Development Push For This Town Bordering China

With these initiatives, Mechuka is poised for a new era of growth in tourism, connectivity, and youth development.

Mechuka, the Arunachalee town located at a height of 6000 feet in the lap of the mighty Himalayas and just 29 kms from the Line of Actual Control separating India and China, is set to receive a massive developmental push.

Chief Minister Pema Khandu who visited the region recently, inspected the new Community Health Centre and inaugurated the Buddha Park and Adventure Zone, promoting wellness and adventure tourism. He also laid foundation stones for township roads, bridges, and a multipurpose stadium, while inaugurating the new Multipurpose Indoor Hall at Mechuka.

In a major initiative for the youth, CM Khandu launched the IT Skill Development Centre under Operation Sadbhavana. He also reviewed the progress of Menchuka Adventure Park and the Menchuka Cultural Haat under the Swadesh Darshan scheme.

During the visit, he offered prayers at the 400-year-old Samten Yangchag Monastery, a spiritual heritage site of the Memba tribe, and appreciated the work at the Govt. Rainbow Trout Hatchery, supporting cold-water fisheries and local farmers.

With these initiatives, Mechuka is poised for a new era of growth in tourism, connectivity, and youth development.
