He further claimed that the accused have not only misused his official identity but have also damaged his and his wife's reputation.
In a startling revelation, former Assam BJP Prasident and Rangia MLA Bhabesh Kalita has filed an FIR accusing three employees of the Madanpur Toll Gate of abducting his wife and illegally printing and misusing his official MLA pad. The complaint was submitted through the Superintendent of Police, Kamrup, demanding immediate action against the culprits.
According to the MLA, the incident occurred about a month ago when his wife was travelling to Changsari. Kalita alleged that the accused, identified as Juwel Khandakar, Amar Jyoti Goswami, and Gajiur Rahman, abducted his wife from near the Madanpur Toll Gate as she was crossing the Toll Gate.
He pointed out that his house is located near the toll gate, and as per NHAI norms he or his family should not be paying the toll every time they cross the toll gate as people living near toll gates on national highways are exempted from paying the levy as they have to cross it every day. The employees allegedly abducted Kalita’s wife without provocation.
In his letter to the SP, MLA Kalita wrote, “Today, I was shocked and surprised when some media persons asked me why I issued my MLA letter pad to certain individuals. I have never issued my MLA pad to anyone. The document shown to them clearly proves that the accused printed and misused my official letterhead. This is a very serious matter, no one can print a pad bearing my designation and misuse it.”
He further claimed that the accused have not only misused his official identity but have also damaged his and his wife’s reputation. “They have maligned my name and dragged my wife’s name into this as well. I am now in deep fear that they may continue to misuse my MLA pad,” he added.
The MLA has urged the police to take strict and urgent action to prevent any further misuse of his identity and ensure the safety of his family.
