Manipur Flood Scenario: People in Manipur are currently facing flash floods as rivers overflow due to continuous heavy rainfall.
The flood situation in Manipur has worsened. People in Manipur are currently facing flash floods as rivers overflow due to continuous heavy rainfall. Most rivers in the state have crossed the danger mark, affecting several areas. Parts of Imphal East, Imphal West, Senapati, and Kangpokpi have been affected by floods.In capital city Imphal the flood situation has worsened prompting rescue and evacuation operations.
Manipur Fire Service successfully conducted a rescue operation at Officer Colony in Imphal East, where flash floods had inundated the area. Among those rescued were top-ranking state officials, including senior officers of the Manipur Police, the Director of Transport, the SP of Imphal West, and other government officials.Rescue efforts are ongoing, with the Security Forces, NDRF, SDRF, Assam Rifles, and the Indian Army actively engaged on the ground.
Office of All India Radio Imphal and the official residence of former forest minister Th. Bishwajit have also been affected by Flash Flood.
In Senapati district, a wooden bridge washed away at Viewland colony.Many houses and some private were covered by mudslides in the low lying areas. Senapati District administration or the district disaster management authority has set up temporary shelter homes at various colonies in the district.

Assam Rifles has also announced flood relief helpline numbers for Imphal West, Imphal East & Kakching.
With the monsoon season underway and the risk of flooding on the rise, Inspector General Assam Rifles (South) has activated dedicated Flood Relief Helpline Numbers for Imphal West, Imphal East, and Kakching districts to ensure rapid response and support to those affected by flood-related emergencies.
Flood Relief Helpline Numbers for Imphal West and Imphal East is +91-8652075170 and for Kakching it is +91-7650017209.
These lines will be manned 24×7 by trained personnel, ready to coordinate with local authorities and swiftly deploy rescue teams, medical assistance and essential relief supplies wherever needed.
