Chum Darang’s fans are demanding an apology and even an FIR against Elvish for his racist remarks against the actress from Arunachal Pradesh.
Elvish Yadav, the popular YouTuber and winner of Bigg Boss OTT 2, has stirred controversy with racist and derogatory remarks against Bigg Boss 18 contestant Chum Darang. During a podcast with Rajat Dalal, Elvish mocked Chum’s name and even made vulgar insinuations about her. He also questioned her performance in the Bollywood film Gangubai Kathiawadi, sparking outrage among fans.
“Karanveer ko pakka COVID tha kyunki Chum kisko pasand aati hai bhai, itna taste kiska kharab hota hai! Aur Chum ke toh naam mein hi ashleelta hai… Naam Chum aur kaam Gangubai Kathiawadi mein kiya hai,” Elvish was heard saying in the viral clip.
A video of his comments was shared on Reddit, leading to widespread criticism. Chum Darang’s fans are demanding an apology and even an FIR against Elvish for his racist remarks against the actress from Arunachal Pradesh. Social media users condemned the YouTuber, with one writing, “This is what happens when you give gundas a platform.” Another user commented, “We hardly have Northeast actors, and for those who make it, hearing such things from irresponsible platforms must be soul-crushing.”
Following the backlash, Elvish Yadav deleted the clip from his YouTube channel. However, Chum Darang has not yet responded to the controversy.
