DU Ragging Case: University Sets up Committee to look into Lapses

The 4-member committee headed by a retired Principal, Sibsagar Commerce College will submit its report in 3 days

Amid the outrage over Dibrugarh University’s utter failure in handling the horrific ragging incident where a junior student, Anand Sharma, a resident of PNGB hostel was brutally tortured, the University has constituted a 4-member committee to investigate any lapses or deficiencies in dealing with ragging incidents in the University.

The committee would be headed by Kartik Chandra Dutta, Retired Principal, Sibsagar Commerce College and Former Executive Committee Member of the University.

The other members of the Committee are – Prof P. K. Barua, Chairperson, Centre for Tea & Agro Studies, Dibrugarh University, Dr. Dipak Kr. Sarmah, Retired Principal, Kakojan College, and Dr Bijoy Krishna Pachani, Executive Committee Member, D.U.
Dhwajen Sonowal, Estate Office, Dibrugarh University would be the Convener of the Committee.

The Committee will take opinions from all concerned and submit the report within three days.
