Don’t waste votes on TIPRA Motha, it can’t form Govt in Tripura: Assam CM & NEDA Convenor Himanta Biswa Sarma

Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma also targetted the Congress-CPI(M) alliance and called it an alliance of convenience for both parties

Assam Chief Minister and North-East Democratic Alliance or NEDA Convenor Himanta Biswa Sarma targetted the Tipraha Indigenous Progressive Regional Alliance (TIPRA Motha) and the alliance between the Congress and the CPI-M in Tripura during the poll campaign today.

CM Sarma was addressing a public rally at Krishnapur Assembly Constituency in Khowai district for Bikas Debbarma, a BJP candidate who is also BJP Janajati Morcha state president.

During his address, CM Sarma targetted TIPRA Motha saying the party is not in a position to form government anyhow and urged the people of Tripura not to waste their votes on TIPRA Motha.

He said that voting for TIPRA Motha and not voting are equivalent as it can never form a government. He further said that TIPRA Motha want to divide Tripura into two parts with their demand for Greater Tipraland but no one will support it.

“BJP will not let Tripura be divided into two parts. We will work for the tribal’s development, for their job and employment. We cleared that Tripura will be one state and we will work for the progress and the development of Tripura,” said CM Sarma.

Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma also targetted the Congress-CPI(M) alliance and called it an alliance of convenience for both parties and also an attempt by them to keep themselves afloat.

The NEDA convener then spoke about the developments, Tripura saw in the last five years under the rule of double-engine government and said people should vote for the BJP to continue the development wave in the state.

It may be mentioned that BJP national president JP Nadda today kickstarted the party’s poll campaign in Tripura in the wake of the upcoming Assembly elections in the state launching a Vijay Sankalp Yatra (rally) from Amarpur.

JP Nadda asked the public to vote for BJP in the upcoming assembly elections to keep Tripura free from corruption and misrule.

Tripura will go to polls on 16 February 2023 and the results will be declared on March 2, 2023.
