Banks all over the country will be shut down after the United Forum of Bank Unions called for a two day long strike from May 30 till May 31.
The strike has been called in to protest a nominal 2 percent wage hike offered to Indian Banks Association.
The strike is expected to hit ATM services as monthly salary credits are expected on Thursday. This would not affect online transactions however.
It is to be noted here that ATM guards are also expected to join the strike. Replenishing of ATM’s and it’s safety cannot be guaranteed, thus impacting cash withdrawals.
The bank, however, have stated that ATMs would be replenished before employees go on strike.
