CRPF jawan who hailed from Assam martyred in Manipur violence

Assam on Saturday mourned the death of its son, sub-inspector Naseeruddin Sarkar who was one of two CRPF jawans killed in last night’s ambush in Manipur’s Bishnupur district.
Sarkar, a native of Bhella in Assam’s Barpeta district was stationed in Manipur on election duty.
The deceased jawan is survived by his wife and two sons.
While speaking to media, Sarkar’s son said, “Today morning we got the information from the headquarters that a militant had shot our father at around 2 am and now he is martyred.”
Sarkar had another 5 years of service left, the grieving son said.
The mortal remains of Sarkar will be flown back to Guwahati from Imphal, from where the remains will be taken to his native village in Barpeta district.
Meanwhile, a pall of gloom as descended in his village in Bhella.
The other martyred jawan, Arup Saini, hailed from Bankura district in West Bengal.

Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh has strongly condemned the assault carried out on security forces, which resulted in the tragic loss of two CRPF personnel in the Narasena area of Bishnupur district.
Taking to social media, the Manipur CM termed it as an act of cowardice, even as he stated that their sacrifice will not go in vain.
“Strongly condemn the assault carried out against the Indian security forces, resulting in the tragic loss of two CRPF personnel in the Naransena area of Bishnupur district. Such actions demonstrate cowardice against dedicated security personnel who work tirelessly day and night to uphold peace and stability in the state. Their sacrifice will not go in vain”, CM tweeted.
