Countdown for 59th Femina Miss India begins; 29 contestants arrive in Manipur

The countdown to the much-awaited 59th Femina Miss India Grand Finale has begun. Contestants who will compete for the title arrived in Imphal this afternoon.

Altogether 29 contestants have arrived so far and were accorded a grand welcome at the airport.

The grand finale of the 59th Femina Miss India beauty pageant will be held on April 15 at the Khuman Lampak Indoor Stadium.

This is the first time the Femina Miss India Grand Finale will be held in the Northeast region.

Earlier this week, while reviewing preparedness of the the mega event, Chief Minister N. Biren Singh said that the event will be another opportunity to showcase the warm hospitality of the people of Manipur and the state’s potential to host more such national events in the state.

The Times Group has entered into a first-ever partnership with the Ministry of Tourism, Government of Manipur, to host the grand finale of Femina Miss India 2023 in the northeastern state.
Earlier, speaking on the partnership, CM Singh said that the event will be held in Manipur with the purpose to celebrate the diverse and inclusive Indian culture.

The Chief Minister also exuded confidence that the coming of India’s best talents to the state will help inspire and empower the local youths besides showcasing the rich cultural heritage of Manipur.

Earlier, MD, The Times of India, Vineet Jain said that over the last 6 decades, Femina Miss India has reached audiences in different cities across the country, and the Finale of the 59th edition in Imphal will be something to remember for a long time.

Miss India has transformed the lives of many Indian women, giving them empowerment, employability, opportunity and a strong voice in the community. The state of Manipur also believes in empowering its women to be equal partners in development, hence this partnership is a natural culmination of ideologies and vision, he said.
