Construction firm official Taru Tana who was abducted by suspected NSCN (IM) militants has finally been released.

Tana, who is a vice-president of Puna Hinda Highway Construction company that is involved in the construction of the Trans-Arunachal Highway, was released by the outlawed group at Kharsang in Changlang district of Arunachal Pradesh.

Tana hails from Itanagar and was abducted on Friday night from very close to his house in Bordumsa in Changlang district.

It may also be mentioned here that  no FIR was lodged neither by his family nor by the company he was working with.

According to sources, the NSCN(IM) had slapped the construction firm a demand note of Rs 1 crore last year amid reports that an amount of Rs 30 lakh was already paid to the rebel organization that has been in talks with the central government since 2005.

Incidentally, the rebel organization had also abducted another official of the construction firm. The abducted official is learnt to be in good health.
