Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma met Reliance Industries Chairman Mukesh Ambani and his son, Anant Ambani, on Saturday, just days ahead of the much-anticipated Advantage Assam 2.0 summit. The high-profile meeting focused on exploring investment opportunities and potential collaborations to drive Assam’s industrial transformation.
Taking to X, CM Sarma stated that discussions centered around ways in which Reliance Industries could play a role in Assam’s economic growth, particularly in positioning the state as a key hub for Industry 4.0, the next phase of industrial innovation. The talks also covered strategic initiatives aimed at creating employment and boosting industrial infrastructure.
Notably, earlier on February 7, CM Sarma also met with Tata Sons and Tata Group Chairman Natarajan Chandrasekaran, further emphasising Assam’s aggressive push to attract major investments.
The Assam Chief Minister has been actively reaching out to investors, not just in India but also on a global scale, with a particular focus on the South East Asian region. His efforts are seen as a strategic move to enhance Assam’s industrial landscape, create new business opportunities, and position the state as a key player in the country’s economic growth story.
