According to Chief Minister Sangma this has placed an undue burden on many students especially those from financially constrained backgrounds.

Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad Sangma has sought Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan’s intervention flagging deep concern over the inadequate availability of CUET 2025 examination centres in the state.

In his letter to the Union Minister, Chief Minister Sangma said that the matter has caused considerable anxiety among students and their parents.

Besides, the Meghalaya Chief Minister mentioned that a large number of students who had opted for centres within Meghalaya- particularly in Shillong- have been allotted centres in distant locations such as Jorhat, Dibrugarh districts in Eastern Assam, Mizoram, Nagaland and even in Kolkata.

The Meghalaya Chief Minister also requested the Union Education Minister to consider postponing of deferring the examination for Meghalaya students this year until adequate and accessible infrastructure in ensured.
