Opposition MPs from the Northeast staged protest outside the Parliament opposing the Centre’s move to introduce and pass the Citizenship Amendment Bill.

Assam Congress MPs Ripun Bora, Pradyut Bordoloi, Abdul Khalek, Shillong MP Vincent Pala, NPF Rajya Sabha MP, KG Kenye were among those who staged protest against the Centre.

It may be mentioned that the Bill is facing stiff opposition in the region. Different groups and organisations are apprehensive over the fact that the decision to bring CAB will affect the demographics of the Northeast states.
