CAP demands immediate dismissal of Director, Sikkim Urja Limited

Sunil Sarogi who has been appointed as the Director of Sikkim’s largest power project is not a domicile of Sikkim therefore he cannot hold a government position

The Citizen Action Party (CAP) has demanded the dismissal of Sunil Sarogi, Director, Sikkim Urja Limited, the largest power project of Sikkim. The CAP submitted a memorandum to the Chief Secretary stating that Sunil Sarogi should be terminated within 30 days. He should be terminated because he is not from Sikkim.

Speaking to Northeast Live, Narendra Adhikari, the leader of CAP pointed out that Rule 4(4) under 371f states that individuals from outside Sikkim cannot be appointed to governmental positions. According to Adhikari, the appointment of Sunil Sarogi as the director of Sikkim Urja Limited has violated this rule. Therefore, the government should terminate his employment as soon as possible. Adhikari also mentioned that Sunil Sarogi has a background in law, but being appointed as the director of a hydro power project is unacceptable, suggesting the possibility of a conspiracy.

Furthermore, Adhikari warned that if Sarogi is not terminated within one month, the CAP will stage protest.
