BJP to take up ILP, 8th schedule issues with Centre: Meghalaya MLA A L Hek

Meghalaya BJP is also likely to highlight the issue of implementation of various development schemes

Meghalaya Cabinet Minister and senior BJP leader, AL Hek said on Wednesday that the state BJP will raise the issue of implementation of ILP and inclusion of Khasi and Garo dialects in the 8th schedule with Union Home Minister Amit Shah.

Speaking to Northeast Live, Hek said that the state BJP is seeking appointment with Union Home Minister Amit Shah, who will visit Shillong on Friday to preside over the plenary meeting of the North Eastern Council (NEC) as its chairman.

“There are so many schemes to develop the Northeastern states, Meghalaya has a huge potential for tourism. So we will request some special scheme for promotion of tourism in the state of Meghalaya,” Hek added.

Meghalaya BJP’s chief spokesperson, M Kharkrang also told the media in Shillong that the party state leadership is trying to meet the Union Home Minister and will raise ILP issue with him.
The state BJP is also likely to highlight the issue of implementation of various development schemes.
