The BJP is all set to form the next government in the Mara Autonomous District Council in Mizoram. The Saffron Party has also elected former Chief Executive Member M Laikaw as its leader.
As per inputs by our Mizoram correspondent, Laikaw’s election as Leader of the BJP Legislature Party has been communicated to Governor Hari Babu Kambhampati. Laikaw will be sworned in as the next CEM of MADC as and when the Governor approves his appointment.
The development comes after the Congress-Mizo National Front (MNF) government had suffered defeat in the no confidence motion on the last day of the winter session of the MADC.
