In a horrific act of violence, a man was tied to a fence, beaten up, and salt, turmeric and red chilli powder rubbed to his wounds.

The incident has been reported from near Dharmnagar’s BBI complex stadium in Agartala.

Narrating the incident, the victim identified as Sagar Shukla Baidya, a mason by profession and a resident of Chandrapur Club, said that few days back he had an argument with a person named Ratan who had sent some inappropriate videos to his sister who is a minor.

After that incident, in what appears to be an act of revenge, Ratan along with some of his friends identified as Kaushik, Abhi, and another youth from Chandrapur called Sagar Shukla Baidya to the BBI complex stadium and subjected him to inhuman torture leaving Sagar not just crying in pain but begging for his life.

It is only when someone informed the police and when the police arrived at the scene that Ratan and his friends stopped torturing Sagar.

Some passers-by filmed the incident and the video went viral.

Dr. Manoj Debnath, who treated Sagar at the North District Hospital, reported that the victim arrived at the hospital with numerous cut wounds.

A case has been registered with the Dharmanagar Police Station, and three primary accused have been arrested.

Further investigation and search for others who were seen in the video taking part in the violent incident, is underway.
