Assam’s Abhinab Gautam Wins Bronze at Asian Armwrestling Championship 2025

Abhinab Gautam, a student-athlete from Assam Agricultural University’s College of Veterinary Science in Khanapara, Guwahati, has clinched a bronze medal at the Asian Armwrestling Championship 2025 held on May 3 in New Delhi.

Competing in the fiercely contested 75 kg category, Gautam showcased immense strength, skill, and resilience to earn a podium finish against some of Asia’s best armwrestlers.

Athletes from 21 Asian countries, including Iran, Japan, and Kazakhstan participated in the event.

His remarkable feat is a testament to his dedication, as he balanced intense training with academic responsibilities.

The tournament brought together elite athletes from across the continent, and Gautam’s success shines a spotlight on India’s growing stature in the world of armwrestling.
