Assam: Both cases have sent shockwaves across Assam, prompting widespread concern over the safety of women living away from home.

In 24 hours, two young women from Assam have been found dead under mysterious circumstances in two other states.

In the first case, Rosmita Hojai from Dima Hasao was found dead on the river bank in Uttarakhand yesterday. Today, 24-year-old Shivali Kashyap from Nazira was found dead in Ahmedabad, Gujarat.

Shivali, employed at a private firm in the city, was reportedly in a relationship with a man named Saurav Purohit. According to her family, she spoke to her mother on the phone at 12:34 AM. Merely 30 minutes later, around 1:00 AM, the family received the shocking phone call stating that she had died.

Her boyfriend claimed she fell from a building, but the family strongly suspects foul play and has urged the police to probe his involvement. Her brother has rushed to Ahmedabad to oversee the investigation and ensure that proper legal steps are taken. The police have yet to confirm the exact cause of death, and investigations are ongoing.

In another heart-wrenching incident, the body of 26-year-old Rosmita Hojai, who had gone missing in New Delhi on June 5, was found on the banks of a river in Pauri Garhwal, Uttarakhand. Rosmita, an engineering graduate from Haryana and an APSC aspirant from Guwahati, had travelled to Delhi to appear for the RRB (Railway Recruitment Board) exam.

She last spoke to her mother on the evening of June 5, informing her that she was returning home by train. After that, she went missing. Her phone was switched off and she remained untraceable until her body was discovered days later.

Both cases have sent shockwaves across Assam, prompting widespread concern over the safety of women living away from home.

Families and social organizations have called for swift justice and a transparent investigation to uncover the truth behind these tragic deaths.
