Assam: Son Buries Paralyzed Mother Alive In Tinsukia

The woman identified as Budhuni Lakra had been paralyzed for the last 8-10 years.

In a harrowing incident, a man buried his paralyzed mother alive in Assam’s Tinsukia district.

The incident has been reported from near Phillobari Tea Estate in Tinsukia district on Monday.

The accused has been identified as Gavrel Lakra.

The horrifying crime came to light when neighbours noticed suspicious activity in Gavrel’s house and alerted the police.

On receiving information, police arrived at the scene and started digging up the makeshift grave.

Miraculously, the woman identified as Budhuni Lakra was found still breathing, but later succumbed to her ordeal.

Speaking to media, a local said that, Budhuni Lakra had been paralyzed for the last 8-10 years, and Gavrel was taking good care of her, until Monday he buried her alive in their backyard.

Police launched an investigation into the incident, and the Gavrel has been taken into custody.
