Assam Shocker: 32-year-old differently-abled man allegedly tortured and killed by parents

The tragic incident came to light when Sohail's body was found floating in a pond near his residence.

In a shocking incident that has sent shockwaves in Assam’s Karimganj district, a 32-year-old differently-abled man was allegedly tortured and murdered by his own parents on Friday.

The horrific incident took place in Pura-huria village in Assam’s Karimganj district.

The deceased has been identified as Sohail Ahmed. While the father has been identified as Abdus Shahid, the identity of the mother is yet to be established.

As per inputs, the deceased was locked inside his home and was thrashed by his parents and aunt.
Videos have gone viral wherein it can be seen that the boy was thrashed with sticks.

Meanwhile, another video has emerged wherein the boy was seen engulfed by fire inside a room. But it is still not clear as to how and under what circumstances the victim caught fire.

The tragic incident came to light when Sohail’s body was found floating in a pond near his residence.

Following the incident, the tight-knit community of Purahuria village is in shocked and outraged by the horrible incident.

Local police, upon being informed, arrived at the scene and recovered the body, which has since been sent for a post-mortem examination.

An investigation has been launched into the case.
