A tense situation unfolded at the camp of the self-styled Ayurvedic healer and entrepreneur Pankaj Pathak in Goalpara. Known for his claims that his Ayurvedic medicine helps regrow hair for bald individuals, Pathak found himself at the centre of a controversy after an altercation allegedly turned violent.

The incident reportedly began when a resident, Tapan Chakraborty, got into a verbal spat with Pathak over a woman’s request for hair oil. The woman, wearing a wig due to hair loss, reportedly refused to remove it while requesting Pathak’s product.

Things took an ugly turn when the woman was allegedly denied the oil and was subjected to verbal abuse. When Tapan intervened, he was allegedly assaulted by Pathak and his aides, leaving him bleeding.

Police promptly reached the location and tried to bring the situation under control, but the crowd remained angry and adamant and demanded Pathak apologise publicly.
Pathak held his ears in front of the gathering and said, “It is our fault… I apologise to all the people of Goalpara.”
