Kohima Battalion of the Assam Rifles rescued four tourists who were stranded during a trek to Dzukou Valley. The tourists were identified as Shankar, Prabhu, Kaushalaya and Sumitra who had arrived in Kohima from Mumbai.

The tourists were trekking the Dzukou valley trail from Viswema, while trekking they followed sign boards and reached Dzukou Valley Top. However, they lost directions thereafter and were caught up in rain and thunder storm.

The stranded tourists were rescued after a thorough search of six hours by troopers of the Assam Rifles. Earlier, on March 12 the Indian Army rescued nearly 680 people including locals and tourists at Sela Pass in Arunachal Pradesh who were stranded due to heavy snowfall.
