Assam Rifles DG Meets Manipur CM and Governor to Discuss Border Issues and Security Concerns

The leaders engaged in an in-depth dialogue about the state’s border security issues and other pressing security concerns.
In a significant move to bolster security and address prevailing concerns in Manipur, Lt. Gen. Vikas Lakhera, Director General of Assam Rifles, and Major General Ravroop Singh, Inspector General of Assam Rifles (South), held crucial meetings with Governor Anusuiya Uikey and Chief Minister N. Biren Singh on Sunday.
The discussions began in the afternoon when Lt. Gen. Lakhera met Governor Ajay Kumar Bhalla at Raj Bhawan. The meeting focused on the current situation in Manipur and the state’s security arrangements, particularly concerning the Assam Rifles’ role in maintaining law and order.
Later in the evening, Lt. Gen. Lakhera and Major General Ravroop Singh met Chief Minister N. Biren Singh at the Chief Minister’s Secretariat. The leaders engaged in an in-depth dialogue about the state’s border security issues and other pressing security concerns.
Taking to X, CM N Biren wrote, “We held a detailed discussion on the prevailing situation in the state, with a particular focus on border issues and security concerns.”
