Assam: Rajdhani Express to Now Stop at Hill Station Diphu

Assam: The restoration of the Rajdhani Express halt at Diphu is expected to support the growing transportation needs.

In what comes as good news for the people of Karbi Anglong and Dima Hasao districts of Assam, the Ministry of Railways has approved the stoppage of 12423/12424 Dibrugarh- New Delhi at Diphu Railway Station.

However, the initiative has been taken on an experimental basis. It is to be mentioned that the Dibrugarh-New Delhi Rajdhani Express earlier did not have a scheduled stop at Diphu Railway Station due to some reasons.

The Rajdhani Express is a key train connecting Dibrugarh and New Delhi, and the lack of a stoppage at Diphu meant residents of Kari Anglong and Dima Hasao had to travel to nearby stations like Lumding or Dimapur to board it.

Sharing the news Amarsing Tisso, the lone Lok Sabha MP from the hill districts wrote “An exciting development brings immense joy to the residents of Karbi Anglong, West Karbi Anglong, and Dima Hasao districts. The Rajdhani Express stoppage at Diphu has been reinstated. This achievement is a direct result of the Government of India’s responsiveness to the needs of its people, as I had advocated for this convenience to facilitate timely travel to various destinations. I would like to extend my sincere appreciation to the Hon’ble Union Minister of Railways, Shri Ashwini Vaishnaw ji, for his prompt action in addressing this request.”

The restoration of the Rajdhani Express halt at Diphu is expected to support the growing transportation needs and also give a boost to trade in the hill districts.
