Assam: One Dead, One Seriously Injured After Bike Falls into River at Midnight

At around 6:00 AM on Friday, local residents noticed him and immediately informed the Bismuri Outpost Police.
A tragic road accident occurred around midnight on Thursday at National Highway 27 near Bismuri in Assam’s Kokrajhar district, resulting in the death of one youth and leaving another seriously injured.
The mishap took place when a Yamaha MT 15 motorcycle reportedly lost control and fell into the Alangi Samuka River. The two riders were on their way to meet a friend in Serfanguri, also in Kokrajhar district, when the accident occurred.
One of the riders, Tutumoni Ray from Polashguri in Bongaigaon district, died on the spot due to the impact. His friend, Manash Singha from Turibari in Chirang district, suffered multiple injuries, including a broken leg and arm.
Manash’s mobile phone got damaged in the accident, leaving him unable to call for help. He spent the entire night injured and helpless beside his friend’s lifeless body in the riverbed.
At around 6:00 AM on Friday, local residents noticed him and immediately informed the Bismuri Outpost Police. The police team reached the spot, rescued Manash, and shifted him to Kokrajhar Medical College and Hospital for urgent treatment.
Police have launched an investigation to determine the exact cause of the accident.
