Assam Minister Jayanta Malla Baruah Lands in Trouble for Insulting Journalist. Chief Minister Apologizes for Minister’s Deregatory Comments

CM Sarma apologised for Minister Baruah’s deregatory remarks on a journalist representing a leading Guwahati-based Assamese news channel.

Assam Cabinet Minister, Jayanta Malla Baruah has landed himself in deep trouble after allegedly insulting a journalist during a press conference on Friday.

The matter has become so grave that Assam Chief Minister, Himanta Biswa Sarma had to step in to normalise the situation.

CM Sarma apologised for Minister Baruah’s deregatory remarks on a journalist representing a leading Guwahati-based Assamese news channel.

While interacting with journalists on Saturday and on being asked to comment on the misbehaviour of Jayanta Malla Baruah to the journalist, Chief Minister Sarma said, “If Minister Baruah had spoken in that manner (calling the journalist uneducated and low class) then I apologise on his behalf and I will personally ask him to apologise”.

Minister Jayanta Malla Baruah, during his press conference on Friday, had refused to answer the questions of the journalist calling him an uneducated and low class person.

The Minister told the journalist that he will give answers to his owner and not him.
