The victim has been identified as Kali, who had been working at Saikia’s residence for nearly 4 years.
A chilling case of suspected murder has emerged from Assam’s Tezpur, where a man has been accused of killing his domestic help and burying the body in his backyard.
The accused man has been identified as Duldul Saikia.
The victim has been identified as Kali, who had been working at Saikia’s residence for nearly 4 years.
The incident came to light after over the past few days, neighbours began to notice Kali’s sudden absence. When questioned, Saikia reportedly told them that Kali had died due to illness and that he had buried the body behind his house.
After locals informed police, officials arrived at the scene and dug up the area Saikia had mentioned.
Shockingly, Kali’s decomposed body was exhumed from a pit behind the house.
Saikia was arrested on the spot and taken into custody for further interrogation.
Locals also alleged that Saikia routinely mistreated the boy. “He made Kali do all the household chores, did not even feed him properly, and forced him to work like a servant without rest,” said one neighbour, describing the treatment as exploitative and inhumane.
