Every year, the artisans at the Assam Khadi & Village Industries Board prepare the National Flag in bulk numbers which get distributed throughout the state.
Bipul Hazarika, the Additional Executive Officer cum Marketing Officer of the Assam Khadi & Village Industries Board, while talking to with media, expressed that the board is targeting to produce 5400 numbers of the national flag for Republic Day celebrations this year which will be worth about Rs 11.2 lakhs. The Additional Executive Officer further informed that the board produced 2,798 numbers of the National Flag last year which fetched an amount of Rs 8.12 lakhs.
The Indian flag was adopted by the Constituent Assembly on the 22nd of July 1947 and was designed by Pingali Venkaiaah.
