Assam Govt Exchanges MoUs Worth Rs 22,900 Cr, Boosting Industrial Growth and Job Creation

Taking a significant leap towards realising the vision of a Viksit Assam, the Assam Government today exchanged Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) worth Rs 22,900 crore with a host of investors under the ambitious Advantage Assam2.0 initiative.

The MoUs were signed during the Advantage Assam 2.0 Summit held in Guwahati in February this year, marking a major push for industrial growth and investment in the state.

The move signals robust industrial growth and promising investment opportunities across key sectors in the state.

Key investments include Rs 8,824.72 crore in the Industry, Commerce & Public Enterprises Department, Rs 14,000 crore in the Power Department and Rs 75 crore in the Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Department.

The investments under #AdvantageAssam2.0 are expected to create a total of 5,953 job opportunities across various sectors.

This includes 5,283 jobs in Industry, Commerce & Public Enterprises, 500 jobs in the Power sector, and 170 jobs in Animal Husbandry and Veterinary services.

Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma expressed his gratitude to the investors for their confidence and collaboration.

He reaffirmed the government’s commitment to creating an industry-friendly ecosystem backed by progressive policies and modern infrastructure to accelerate Assam’s economic development.

Highlighting progress, CM Sarma informed that investment commitments worth approximately Rs 23,000 crore have now moved into the execution phase, paving the way for large-scale job creation and sustained economic growth in Assam.

The Assam Government’s proactive approach and the substantial investments mark a transformative phase for the state’s industrial landscape, promising inclusive growth and prosperity for its people.
