In a tragic incident, as many as 12 labourers including a two-month old baby and women were critically injured in a cylinder explosion in a brick factory in Kamrup’s Pakorkona last night.
The blast occurred in the labourers’ quarters, causing severe injuries to the victims.
Eleven of the injured have been rushed to the Guwahati Medical College and Hospital for urgent medical care. The condition of all the injured is critical.
Authorities are investigating the cause of the explosion while medical teams work tirelessly to save the lives of the injured.
The incident has raised concerns regarding safety standards in labour accommodations at work sites.
