Assam CM Himanta Biswa Vows Holistic Education Reforms, Prioritises Science Fairs, AI and Teachers’ Demands

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma chaired several important meetings in his office yesterday to address various issues related to the State’s education sector.

In the first meeting with the Adarsh Vidyalaya Sangathan, he stressed the importance of developing a scientific outlook among young minds. He proposed organising science and mathematics fairs, providing AI orientation, and focusing on environmental issues.

During his discussion with the Assam College Teachers Association, Chief Minister highlighted the steps taken by the government to ensure the holistic development of college teachers. He assured teachers that the government would adopt a positive approach regarding their demands related to leave and grade pay, aiming for solutions that satisfy everyone.

In a meeting with the Cabinet Sub-committee on school provincialisation, the Chief Minister led detailed discussions about the conditions surrounding provincialisation and the necessary steps to move forward. He instructed officials to expedite the validation of data relevant to this process.

Taking to X, Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma wrote, “We remain committed to building an education system that is robust, integrates skilling and employability as core focus areas, and meets the needs of all stakeholders.”
